My name is Carol Chalk. I was born in Broad Chalke, Wiltshire in 1963 where I spent the first quarter century of my life. Since then I have lived in various parts of England, including Hampshire, Cornwall, Middlesex, Surrey and Dorset. I now live in South East London.
I left my comprehensive school in Salisbury in 1980 and attended the local college during the following year enrolled on a secretarial course. In 2004 I graduated from The Open University with a Bachelor of Arts (Open) degree, in history, humanities and social science subjects.
My career has been predominantly administrative, with writing as a hobby.
I started writing poetry as a child and have always valued this creative ability. I have poems published in several compilations of poetry by United Press.
In 2013 I decided to turn my hand to lyric writing, using my poetic skills and limited musical ability. I'm getting there so watch this space.
In June 2016 I started contributing to 'The Talko' online magazine.
There is, of course, the big novel waiting in the wings.
I hope you enjoy reading my work.
